Wrist tunnel syndrome is a disease caused by pressure on the main wrist nerve and manifesting by pain in the wrist and hand areas.
Wrist tunnel syndrome is usually caused by heavy physical work, performed intensive monotonic hand bending movements, wrist traumas that result in the swelling of the wrist. In the long run, the feeling of burning and pain originate in the wrist and hand area. Although the wrist tunnel syndrome usually manifests to persons of mature and senior age, it becomes increasingly more common among young persons, who intensively work with the computer.
The following cases should be alarming:
pain in the areas of wrist, forearm or hand;
feeling of numbness, tingling, insensibility and, in some case, burning of fingers;
the pain and numbness of fingers does not disappear and, in the long run, increases, spreads upwards and starts to prevent from living a full life;
it becomes difficult to hold objects as a result of hand and wrist weakness, they start falling from the hands;
it becomes difficult to grab small objects and use them.
